Our Leadership Team

The Awakening's staff, made up of both full-time and volunteer members, is a team is committed to serving Jesus Christ, this generation, and every person we come into contact with.

  • In 2009, Max and Jessica launched The Awakening with the mission to empower this generation to change the world. They have ministered in more than 60 different nations, lead diverse missions efforts, mentor and develop leaders globally, and intentionally invest in the next generation. They Both graduated from Southwestern Christian University where Max now serves in the Executive Committee of SCU's Board of Trustees. As well as leading The Awakening, IPHC World Missions appointed Max as Regional Director for South America. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Pentecostal World Fellowship World Missions Commission, in the NGN Global Cabinet for Empowered21 and is an Ordained minister in the Heartland conference of the IPHC. Max and Jessica live in Edmond, Oklahoma with their children and firmly believe this generation will change the world.

  • Madeline Nix

    Coordinator of Spiritual Formation and Development

    In the Summer of 2012 Madeline went on her first mission trip with the Awakening and has not stopped going since! She has ministered in over 15 different nations leading mission trips, mentoring young emerging leaders, and intentionally investing in the next generation.  As an ordained minister in the Mississippi Conference and with a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies, Madeline leads the way in the spiritual development of interns.

  • Seth Nix 

    Coordinator of Mobilization

    Seth is a gifted worship leader and song writer, and is a member of The Awakening Band. Worship is what is in his heart and he loves to see youth and young adults embrace the love of God through lyrics and music. Seth wants to take his gifts and talents to unreached people groups of the world through pioneering new missions work in places that have not yet been reached. Seth has served with The Awakening since 2010.

  • Betsy Salazar Hope 

    Coordinator of Teams & International Relations

    Betsy grew up as a missionary child in Brussels, Belgium where she had a first-hand encounter with missions. There, she developed a burden to do whatever it takes to see Jesus glorified on this earth. She joined The Awakening in 2014 where her multilingual capability has allowed her to plan and lead countless mission teams. Betsy and her husband Adam reside in OKC where she also serves as the youth pastor at her local church as a licensed minister of the Heartland Conference.

  • Whitney Browning

    Coordinator of Public Relations and Communication

    Whitney was born and raised in West Virginia before graduating from Bluefield College in Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. Combining her passion to see God glorified worldwide and her experience in communication, she joined The Awakening in 2018 as the Coordinator of Public Relations and Communication. Whitney is excited to see the Kingdom of God continue to come alive in the hearts of young leaders.

  • Javi Farias

    Coordinator of Media

    Javi was born and raised in Santiago de Chile and over the years served in different capacities at the Evangelical Cathedral of Chile. On top of his engineering degree he is now pursuing a Masters in Theology at Southwestern Christian University. In 2016 after a summer internship with The Awakening, he started serving our global team as coordinator of Media. 

  • Adam Presley

    Graphic Design Specialist

    Adam is an Emmanuel College graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Digital Media Production. Although he grew up in Wales, Adam got involved with The Awakening's Summer Internship in 2015. Since then, he has been a traditional intern at Emmanuel College. In 2019 Adam joined the team as staff, using his creative brilliance and heart for missions to help this generation spread the gospel to the least, last and lost.

    Ellizon and Stephany joined the Awakening to serve as a bridge to our IPHC Hispanic Ministries in the USA. As Hispanic youth themselves, they are passionate about connecting future Hispanic generations to their calling in ministry and in the mission field. They are currently living in Dunn, North Carolina where Ellizon works in video production and Stephany teaches mathematics at a Christian high school. Together they both serve as local church ministers of the NCIPHC. They serve in different ministries such as media, worship and middle school ministry at their local Hispanic church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

  • Jon Campbell

    INTERNATIONAL BASE TEAM LEADER - west coast / Los Angeles

    Jon is an Emmanuel College graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Christian Ministries. Currently, Jon is completing his Masters of Divinity at Regent University with a concentration in Marketplace Ministry, serving full-time as the Director of Residence Life and as a Residence Director for Emmanuel College, and, since 2018, has served as part of The Awakening's EC internship staff. Jon desires to see authentic discipleship happen all over the world through creating and leveraging alternative approaches to Christ-centered community. He loves music, coffee, and skateboarding, and hopes to see these and other interests turn into boundary breaking platforms for the gospel.

  • Erica Campbell


    Erica is a graduate from Emmanuel College with a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries. Alongside a God-given burden for missions, she has always had a heart for young women and a passion to disciple and mentor others on their journey with Jesus Christ. Erica has a desire to pour into the lives of the next generation and help them as they develop compassion for the nations. Erica joined The Awakening in 2018 as part of the Emmanuel College internship staff.

  • Josh Hafner

    INTERNATIONAL BASE TEAM LEADER - east coast / georgia

    Josh graduated from Emmanuel College in 2015 with a Bachelor's of Science in Christian Ministries. In 2018, he joined The Awakening Staff at Emmanuel excited to have an opportunity to mentor college students in a larger capacity. Josh passionately loves people from all nations, which is the heartbeat of the gospel, and wants to see young people fulfill God’s plan for their lives. He has a heart to disciple the next generation and see them flourish where God leads them, both at Emmanuel College and in the seasons beyond.

  • Ashlee Hafner


    Ashlee, an Emmanuel College graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, has the desire to see the next generation find their purpose and walk in their God-given destinies. As a worship leader and a mentor with a heart for worship and discipleship, she desires to see the students on Emmanuel’s campus ignited for what the Lord is doing around the world and help them figure out how they can be a part. Ashlee was a part of the Awakening’s Summer Internship in 2015 but joined The Awakening Staff in 2018 to be a leader for the Traditional Internship at Emmanuel College.

  • Krisztina Révész

    International Base Team Leader - Hungary

    Krisztina was born in Hungary, and has been serving there with IPHC since 2008. After serving for years with the local IPHC congregation in Szigetszentmiklós and with missionaries Dave and Linda Fannin, she started focusing on reaching and discipling people in new areas. Over the last 6 years she has been working closely with The Awakening in multiple projects (Euroquest, Emerging Leaders Summit, teams) and now she has joined our team full time as she serves as Leader for The Awakening International Base!

  • Justin Long

    International Base – Hungary

    Justin, originally from North Carolina, is an Emmanuel College graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in History. After his first international mission trip to Nicaragua at the age of 17, Justin developed a deep desire to serve in missions. Justin joined The Awakening in 2019 and is honored to serve as part of the Hungarian Base staff. A burden for difficult countries and unreached people groups pushes Justin to look for non-contemporary methods of ministry to ensure that no matter where he serves, everyone is afforded a chance to hear the Gospel. Justin hopes to use his love for culture, travel, photography, and a close knit community in any and all ministries that he is a part of.

  • Rachel Schwartz

    International Base – Hungary

    Rachel Schwartz is a graduate of Southwestern Christian University with a Bachelors in Psychology. Her love for missions comes from her childhood in Belgium as a missionary kid with the IPHC. Rachel has a heart for urban cities throughout Europe, especially those with no sole avenue for receiving the Gospel. She also has a burden for mental health and plans to use a career in counseling as a means for ministry. Rachel is experienced in leading mission trips, administrating internships, organizing youth conferences, and working in local church planting.

  • Zsófi Lakatos

    International Base Team Leader – South Africa

    Zsófi, originally from Hungary, has been serving the local church from a young age in various ways. Her heart for missions started at the age of 19 when she attended her first EuroQuest. After finishing her degree in IT Business she spent 5 months in Turkey and Ukraine as a part of the IPHC Discipleship Beyond program, learning and serving with an international team. With a heart for those in need, Zsófi got her masters in International Economics to gain more insight on international aid and development. She believes that God wants to equip the younger generations with His Holy Spirit to break down barriers that aren't from God. Zsófi's hope is as she is going to be part of The International Base in Africa that she can help a generation through discipleship and humanitarian ministry.

  • Haley Jones

    International Base – South Africa

    Haley Jones, a graduate from Southwestern Christian University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, has felt drawn to missions in Africa since childhood. In 2012 Haley went on her first mission trip to Rwanda. Then, in 2016, she took part in On My Way. After spending time amongst Africa’s sickest and poorest, in villages and cities alike, Haley felt burdened for the people of Africa. Her goal is to share the hope of the gospel with southern Africa through teaching, leading worship, and humanitarian ministry. Upon it's opening, Haley will be headed to serve at The International Base in South Africa.

  • Abigail Yates

    International Base team leaders– Chile

    Abigail Yates is originally from Lexington, Kentucky and has a degree in Intercultural Studies from Southwestern Christian University. Abby heard God's call to missions at a young age and eventually joined The Awakening family in 2015. Feeling drawn to South America, and desiring to see lives and communities transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ, Abby eventually spent a few months serving in Argentina through On My Way and is now an Awakening staff member serving the International Base in Chile.



    Since the summer of 2018, Elizabeth has known she is called to spread the gospel to the nations. Coming from a rich heritage of ministers, she felt led to attend and graduate from Holmes Bible College. It was at Holmes where she had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica and Guatemala with The Awakening. Those experiences allowed her heart to be receptive to God’s call on her life to missions. In the summer of 2021, she will walk in her calling by assisting The Awakening in Chile. For one year, she will be helping to plant an International Base. She has seen God bless her life as she has walked in obedience and in faith. Her prayer is to share the Good News of abundant life to the people of Chile, and that God will complete the good work that He has called her to this year and for many years to come. 

  • tony and Anna Barbara feagin


    Tony, Anna Barbara, and their two beautiful children are heading for Chile in the South America Region. They will work directly with WMM’s The Awakening at the International Base in Santiago, Chile, providing oversight and direction to the operations and programs of the base. They will use their passions for videography, teaching, creative arts, and service to impact the local communities as they minister and train up a generation of leaders.  Tony and Anna Barbara look forward to taking their love for coffee and experience as coffee roasters and incorporating it by spearheading the establishment of a coffee shop in Santiago, which will provide numerous opportunities for community outreach. Their overall mission is to mobilize, train, and equip the upcoming generation.
